Fanatics has struck a deal to become the exclusive supplier of licensed sports merchandise on Coupang, the South Korean internet marketplace. The deal takes effect this summer for a term of ten years. South Korea is definitely among the world's top ten e-commerce markets, well behind China and the U.S. but more or less on a par with France. Fanatics announced a similar deal in January with Walmart's online global marketplace. Speaking to TechCrunch, the American online trade paper for the tech industry, the company's chief executive, Michael Rubin, said that Fanatics expects to make “many more” marketplace deals in the future. Fanatics operates more than 300 physical and online stores and has partnerships with more than 200 professional and collegiate sports teams.
