Fibo, the fitness and health trade show that has been held in Essen since 1991, closed its four-day run on April 22 with a record 65,800 visitors, up by 13.2 percent from last year. There were 612 exhibitors from 35 countries, up from 581 exhibitors in 2011. Sixty-five percent of the visitors to the show are from within the fitness, wellness or health industry, and almost a third of them come from outside Germany. This year's event marked the last one in Essen, as it has outgrown the space there. Next year's show, slated for April 11-14, will move to Cologne and have 15,000 square meters more exhibition space. A survey conducted at Fibo by Wissler & Partner found that 61 percent of the companies expect the demand for fitness and health services to rise, either strongly or slightly. Companies are similarly willing to invest in new equipment.
