Fibo, which was back in Cologne for the first time after 22 years last April 11-13, registered a record with almost 30 percent more visitors, 10 percent more exhibitors and an exhibition area expanded by 30 percent as compared to last year, when the show was still held in Essen. With a total of 96,700 visitors, two-thirds of whom were trade visitors, the international fitness trade show had the highest attendance in its 28-year history. There were 670 exhibitors in Cologne from 30 nations, on a total area of 100,000 square meters, compared with 612 exhibitors last year on 78,000 m². However, Kettler and other companies specializing in home fitness equipment did not participate. More than 30 percent of the trade visitors came from abroad. One-sixth of them travelled to Fibo from America, Asia and the Arab countries. During the show, 25 percent of the the trade visitors placed orders exceeding €50,000 each. One of the winners of the Fibo Innovation Award was BILT, a brand of fitness training equipment supported by André Agassi and his former fitness coach, Gil Reyes. The next Fibo will take place in Cologne on April 3-6, 2014.
