Fila Korea has reported a 36 percent improvement in operating profit to 29.6 billion Korean won (€21.43m-$29.25m) in the first quarter on 17 percent higher revenues of KRW 199.2 billion (€144.21m-$196.89m). The results were driven by Fila USA, whose sales grew by 36 percent to $77.9 million. Sales in Korea went up by only one percent to KRW 89.7 billion (€64.94m-$88.66m). Revenues from licenses and other operations doubled to an implied KRW 37.9 billion (€27.44m-$37.46m), adding operating income of KRW 17.5 billion (€12.67m-$17.30m). The company's Acushnet subsidiary, which owns the Titleist and FootJoy brands, suffered declines in sales, down by 3.5 percent to $412.7 million, and in operating income, down by 29 percent to $34.8 million.
