Fútbol Emotion might achieve the record €85 million in annual sales that it forecast at the close of the first quarter of this year. However, its latest forecast hedges the bet, shaving off €1 to €2 million – all of this according to CMDsport. Even €83 million, though, would amount to a 66 percent increase over last year’s €50 million.

The revenues in question derive from football only – because, as we reported in October, the overall company has changed its name to Sports Emotion and expanded accordingly into other sports, with store banners to match. Hence, the forthcoming Basket Emotion, the result of an acquisition in March. Also excluded is the business of the Yulava Connect app (acquired in February), the French company Ekinsport (acquired in September) and the footwear company Ivanca Custom.

The chain is breaking company records in other areas as well. It has just opened its largest Spanish store to date, in Oviedo. This surpasses the store it opened last year in Alcorcón, which, according to co-founder and CEO Carlos Sánchez Broto, was Europe’s biggest specialty shop in football.

On Nov. 24, moreover, the chain will be opening its first store in Italy, an 800-square-meter affair at the Fiordaliso mall in Milan that Fútbol Emotion believes will be the country’s largest specialty shop in football. Both this and the Oviedo store abide by the chain’s new 3.0 store concept, with a department where customers can get personalized purchases, a football pitch and a gaming section.
