Sprinter’s sales for full-year 2022 exceeded €519 million, for a year-on-year increase of 30 percent, while net profit almost doubled, rising from €18.3 to €34.1 million – all according to Diffusion Sport. The chain also upped its store count in Spain by about 30 to a total of 205. It operates a further eight in the Netherlands. Its payroll increased by nearly a thousand employees, from 3,134 to 4,103.

As we reported in July, JD Sports Fashion intends to acquire the 49.98 percent stake held jointly by Balaiko Firaja Invest and Sonae Holdings in Iberian Sports Retail Group (ISRG) and become the sole owner. According to JD, the transaction requires no antitrust filings, is subject only to the approval of the company’s shareholders, and should be completed in October.
