BasicNet, the Italian parent of Kappa, Robe di Kappa, Superga and Sebago, realized a 9.1 percent decline in nine-month Ebitda to €40.6 million from €44.7 million for the period ended Sep. 30. Nine-month Ebit slipped by 16.4 percent to €26.9 million.
Consolidated nine-month revenues declined by 0.5 percent to €296.1 million from €297.5 million, with direct sales increasing by 1.1 percent to €250.5 million but royalties from commercial and productive licensees falling by 8.1 percent to €44.4 million. Third quarter-only sales were up 4 percent year-over-year, the company said.
Commercial licensee and direct sales in Europe rose by 7.3 percent over the nine months to approximately €647.8 million. Elsewhere, sales fell by double-digits in both the Americas (-30.9%) and Asia/Oceania (-24.7%) but declined by only 5.4 percent in the Middle East/Africa.
The group expects Q4 results to be essentially flat with year-ago results.
