Fútbol Emotion’s football, e-commerce and team-sports divisions have together achieved year-on-year growth of 70 percent for the first half of 2023, according to CMDsport’s sources within the company. Annual sales have risen from about €34 million in 2021 to €50 million in 2022. For the current year, the company is looking for a further rise of 70 percent, to €85 million, as the second half tends to account for a third of the annual total.

The football division includes the banner’s 20 stores in Spain and two in Portugal. Three of these stores – among them the biggest football store in Europe, in Alcorcón – have opened this year, and two others opened this past December. Another five or six are set to open by the end of 2023, although CMD’s sources are mum on locations and schedules. If they do open, 2023 will see the banner’s greatest expansion yet – with some 25 stores in Spain.

As we have reported, Fútbol Emotion was acquired last year by Spain’s Tansley Group, owner of four other companies: Guaw (pet-store chain), Milbby (retail chain for arts and crafts), Bookish (subscription service for readers) and Brandstory (marketing firm). And earlier this year, it made two acquisitions of its own: Basket Revolution (basketball specialty retailer) and Yulava Connect (mobile app).
