Net income at Planet Fitness was up by 67 percent for the second quarter of this year and by 105 percent for the half, reaching €25.1 million and $43.4 million, respectively. The U.S. gym franchisor and operator’s revenues for the quarter and half amounted to $224.4 million (up by 63.5%) and $411.1 million (65.0%). Total EBITDA reached $87.3 million (58.4%) and $165.5 million (65.2%).

As of June 30, Planet Fitness had about 16.5 million members and 2,324 total stores – located in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Panama, Mexico and Australia. Of this total, 2,091 were franchised and 233 corporate-owned. The company says it has “commitments to open more than 1,000 new stores under existing ADAs.”
