Neither separately nor in aggregate have the companies that make up Intersport Spain yet matched the annual sales of 2019 – which themselves were, for the most part, in decline from 2018. The latest available figure for its full-year 2022 is about 28 percent down from the pre-lockdown year.
Intersport Spain consists of Intersport Retail One S.L., Intersport S.L. and (the largest of the three) CSS S.A. Retail One manages Intersport Spain’s own stores and outlets, while Intersport S.L. posts figures two orders of magnitude smaller than those of its counterparts (hundreds of thousands rather than tens of millions) and, therefore, covers about a hundredth of overall operations.
As CMDsport has detailed, after a review of the companies’ submissions to Spain’s mercantile register, total revenues amounted to €94.99 million for 2022, up 5.5 percent from the 90.01 million in 2021, which was itself up 14 percent from the €79.07 million in 2020. However, total revenues amounted to a substantially higher €121.6 million in 2019 and to €122.4 million in 2018.
Annual revenues for CSS were €72.37 million in 2022, up from €68.90 million in 2021 and €61.71 million in 2020, after the higher figures of €96.30 million in 2019 and €98.44 million in 2018.
For Retail One, the breakdown is as follows: €22.32 million in 2022, €20.80 million in 2021, and €17.04 million in 2020, after the higher figures of €24.93 million in 2019 and €25.54 million in 2018.
In contrast to the other subsidiaries, which have been trending up since 2019, the smallest company has been trending down for five years. Intersport S.L. has posted, in chronological order, the following annual revenues: €408,553 (2018), €371,790 (2019), €310,737 (2020), €303,693 (2021) and €299,551 (2022).
