The Catalonian distributor Megasport has finally surpassed its old record for annual revenues, set in 2019, of €19.0 million, according to CMDsport. In 2023 the firm brought in €22.3 million, breaking the €20 million mark for the first time. The year-on-year increase was 22.1 percent.
Annual revenues for the intervening three years, from 2020 to 2023, were €18.8 million, €15.5 million and €18.3 million. Net profits for 2023 were themselves at their highest since at least 2019, reaching €848,680.
Headquartered in Barcelona, Megasport was founded in 1990 by former professional skier David Vinyeta and Beatriz Molero. It has distribution contracts with several sports brands, among them Black Diamond, Dometic, Giro, Haglöfs, Inov, Lowa, Peak Performance and Rossignol. It operates 13 stores of its own, under the M+ banner, as well as sections inside of El Corte Inglés stores. It does business with some 40 dealers and 700 clients and employs about 100.
As we have just reported, Megasport has signed a fresh distribution deal to handle Iberian distribution for the Bollé and Spy+ brands.
