For full-year 2023 Sports Emotion Hub, operator of the Fútbol Emotion and (since March 2023) Basketball Emotion banners in Spain, enjoyed a boost in annual sales of 59.1 percent, to €82.35 million, according to CMDsport. This is a record for the company, although it falls short of the €85 million the company was hoping for a year ago.
CEO Carlos Sánchez Broto says that the boost was due in large part to Fútbol Emotion, but the year was busy in other ways. Over its course Sports Emotion acquired a company called Yulava Connect, producer of a sport-management app, and acquired and rebranded Basketball Revolution. It also opened a first Fútbol Emotion store in Italy – and has since opened a second.
Outlays for these projects and others lowered FY23 profits year-on-year, to a bit more than €600,000.
Sports Emotion also owns the sports e-commerce site Ekinsport and the sneaker- and sportswear-customization shop Ivanca Custom.
The company’s five-year sales trajectory – drawn from Spain’s commercial register and exclusive of VAT – runs as follows:
- 2023: €82,35 million
- 2022: €51.76 million
- 2021: €34.09 million
- 2020: €22.42 million
- 2019: €30.05 million
