Base Detall Sport is satisfied with its performance so far in 2023, which it considers a year of stabilization and consolidation. With VAT excluded, accumulated sales for the first half amounted to about €65 million, for an increase of 13 percent year-on-year, as Diffusion Sport and TradeSport have reported.
Online sales were up 42 percent, and half of these orders were click-and-collect. Base revamped its e-commerce website late last year.
In addition, Base’s associated retailers have, in the second half of the current year, opened four new stores. Bazar Sport has contributed a 300-sqm store in Arguineguín and a 120-sqm store in Galdar, both of these in the Canary Islands, while Sayas Sport has opened a 380-sqm store in Martorell (Barcelona) and Liverpool Deportes a 240-sqm store in Jaén.
In June, meanwhile, Base opened a 330-sqm Wanna Style store, managed by Deportes Santa Gema, in Fuengirola (Málaga); Deportes Blanes remodeled its 400-sqm store in Almería, setting it under the Base banner; and Brands Leaders opened Base’s sixth store in Portugal, in Coura province, with 100 square meters of space.
Back in May, finally, a new Wanna Style store opened in Barcelona.
