Padelmanía founder’s new business sees sales explode.
Spanish e-tailer Padel Market appears on first estimate to have a achieved for 2024 a year-on-year rise in annual revenues of 77.8 percent, from €4.8 to €8.5 million, as founder Cristóbal Bohórquez tells CMDsport. This would amount to a rise of 255.6 percent from the €2.4 million of 2022.
Three-quarters of the most recent year’s sales were exports, notably to Italy – one of two “crown jewel” markets. Padel Market operates in most of Europe as well as in South America and the Arab countries.
The firm opened for business in September 2021 and has been collaborating from the start with the padel player Paquito Navarro, a prominent figure on the website, who says he has “tested and approved” most of the products in the selection. The website, incidentally, is in seven languages – Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Swedish and Portuguese – and sells equipment from Adidas, Babolat, Bullpadel, Head, Nox, Wilson and others, as well as apparel and accessories.

Padel Market does not base its competitivity on price, says Bohórquez. “We’ll do the occasional discount, but these are few and far between. Our priority is profitability, and we focus on markets where it’s the most doable.”
Bohórquez was the founder also of another retail operation, Padelmanía, which did business through the URL enelnombredelpadel.com before switching to padelmania.com. At one point the company was running at least five physical stores, but it went bankrupt in 2017 and was acquired by Time2Padel, which was in turn acquired by Padel Nuestro in 2021.
