The global growth of Brooks Running softened to an annual clip of 24 percent in the third quarter, as pandemic-related supply chain problems began to affect its ability to meet consumer demand, reducing its sales in September. It had grown faster in the first half, as its total sales for the first nine months of the 2021 went up by 43.5 percent. Franchise styles like the Adraline GTS, the Ghost and the Glycerin led the more muted progress in the quarter with an increase of 50 percent. No details could be obtained by the company’s performance in Europe, where its sales rose by 52 percent in the first half. Brooks said it expects the current supply chain challenges to continue through the second quarter of 2022, but claimed that is “well positioned to manage through the disruption with strong partnerships in its geographically diverse yet categorically focused supply chain ecosystem.”
