First Decathlon Contact opens in Roubaix

Decathlon is testing a new store format called Decathlon Contact in the French city of Roubaix. The store, located 100 meters from the Roubaix Grand Place metro station, was opened on Oct. 5. Similar to the Decathlon City concept, which is also designed for city centers, Decathlon Contact stores have a smaller sales area and are generally intended for smaller municipalities, as a report from sport-guide.com explains. The store in Roubaix has a surface area of 500 square meters. Roubaix is located in northern France, on the Belgian border, and has a population of nearly 100,000. The new Decathlon Contact is currently the only Decathlon store in the area.
