Fischer is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The company was founded in 1924 by Joseph Fischer in Upper Austria, where the headquarters are still located today. From humble beginnings, Fischer has grown to become one of the world’s largest manufacturers of ski equipment and a trusted name in skiing, field hockey and outdoor sports. Over the past century, Fischer has continued to push the boundaries of technology and design to deliver superior products that enhance the performance and enjoyment of athletes at all levels, following the vision of being the first choice for athletes.
A history with pioneering tech skis and ski boots
As Fischer celebrates its centenary, it looks back on a rich history of remarkable achievements. From pioneering achievements and breakthrough technologies in ski and boot manufacturing, such as Fischer Vacuum, Hole Ski Technology, Fischer Crown, Air Composite Core, Cold Base Bonding or Turnamic, to the introduction of high-end field hockey and outdoor equipment, Fischer has proven time and again that it can stay ahead of the curve to meet the evolving needs of athletes worldwide.
“We are immensely proud to reach this momentous milestone in our company’s history,” said Franz Föttinger, CEO of Fischer. “For 100 years, Fischer has been driven by a passion for sports and a dedication to providing athletes with the tools they need to succeed. Our commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction remains as strong as ever, and we are excited to continue shaping the future of sports for the next century.”

With the development center and production facility in Austria, a brand new factory in Ukraine equipped with the most modern machinery, a team of motivated and passionate employees as well as several athletes who have a strong personal connection to the brand, Fischer is ready to face the future with confidence. Quality and innovation remain the company’s focus to provide its customers with the best products and services.

Still a pioneer in its 101st year: The first “digital ski”
Fischer will launch its first digital ski as a non-fungible token (NFT) at the beginning of its second century in business. The NFT ski is a unique and collectible digital asset representing Fischer’s spirit of innovation and willingness to push boundaries. Its design is inspired by Fischer’s legendary RC4 World Cup ski, which has been used by many Olympic and World Cup champions.
The NFT ski comes with exclusive benefits for the owner, such as the option to convert the NFT into a real ski later in 2024. This digital ski is limited to only 100 pieces and will be available on the Fischer website starting February 2024. Fischer is the first ski brand to enter the NFT market.
