Following a resolution taken by the United Nations General Assembly last year, the first International Day of Sport for Development and Peace will take place on April 6. A dedicated website, www.april6.org, has been launched in English, Spanish and French to promote initiatives taking place on that day around the world including sporting events, debates, conferences, artistic events, working group meetings, symbolic action or any other relevant action. A Brazilian organization, Agita Mundo, has responded by inviting people from all over the world to join in a “virtual walking” event, posting messages on social networks.
