For the first time ever, Sport 2000 Austria has organized its own in-house trade show. Altogether 70 brands offered their collections to visitors from the pool of 203 affiliated retailers in Austria (not counting the retailers in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, which are another 59). The buying group plans to have four shows per year at its former warehouse at the headquarters in Ohlsdorf. The warehouse was moved to a new location two years ago when the 1,000 square meters on which the shows now take place became too small for the inventory. Sport 2000 is reportedly aiming to improve its relations with the vendors, partially through the efficiency of such order shows. Sport 2000 Austria sees its unique position in the market in the fact that the share of exclusive brands in its stores is low at 10 percent compared with an average share of between 25 and 30 percent for the entire Austrian market.
