Frasers Group, the owner of Sports Direct, is set to launch a new membership program called Frasers Plus in the U.K. market. Speaking at the World Retail Congress in Barcelona on April 26, Frasers Group’s chief executive, Michael Murray, described the solution as the retailer’s version of Amazon Prime. Frasers Plus will be both a subscription-based membership scheme and a flexible payment solution. Customers will earn points, bespoke offers and rewards for shopping across the group’s brands. In the future, benefits might expand to free delivery or a free gym membership at one of the 70 gyms the group owns across the U.K. since it acquired the assets of DW Sports in 2020.
