Fred Perry has appointed Richard Gilmore as the brand's new managing director, effective Feb. 2018. He takes over the position left vacant by Barry Webb last May. Gilmore served as chief operating officer at Jigsaw, the British fashion retailer, for the past four years. He is now re-joining Fred Perry, where he worked as planning director from 2006 to 2013. Prior to that period, he worked in merchandising at John Lewis, Debenhams and River Island. Fred Perry saw its sales decline by 2 percent to £110.8 million (€126.1m-$154.0m) for its 2016-17 operations ending March 2017. Its profits, however, rose from £15.3 million (€17.4m-$21.3m) in the previous year to £16.1 million (€18.3m-$22.4m).
