French suppliers and retailers have agreed on an extension of the deal that exempts them from the more stringent payment rules adopted in France in 2008 in the Loi de Modernisation de l'Economie (LME). This law called for retailers to pay their invoices 60 days after receipt at the latest, or 45 days after the end of the month in which they receive the invoice. The exemption obtained by French sports retailers and suppliers gave them a reprieve until the end of 2011. They have now obtained a new exemption until the end of 2014, but with reduced scope. It chiefly covers products required for snowsports and sales invoiced to seasonal stores, or stores that make more than half of their sales with snowsports products. The same applies for bicycles and related accessories.
