At the annual meeting of the Verband Deutscher Sportfachhandel e.V. (VDS) in Munich, the board of directors was unanimously elected, including two new members:
- President Stefan Herzog, Munich
- Jochen Schnell, Pforzheim (new)
- Katrin Hanel, Oschatz (new)
- Honorary president Werner Haizmann, Stuttgart
- Treasurer Harrison Kahlert, Hildesheim
- Mark Antonius Rothe, Berlin
Schnell is the long-time CFO of Intersport Voswinkel and a former board member of Intersport Germany. Hanel, owner of the Intersport specialty store of the same name in Oschatz, Saxony, also brings the expertise of a female sports retailer to the VDS board.
Besides the elections of the board, the meeting included a presentation by GfK director Martin Langhauser on the sports market and the future cooperation between GfK and VDS, and finally a report by Karin Höcker (association manager and academy director) on the VDS Super Cup 2022.
