According to Reuters, Adidas is sticking to its sales expectations for the World Cup in Qatar even after the German national team was eliminated from the tournament on Dec. 1. “We are absolutely satisfied with the World Cup sales,” the company said on-site in Doha. It was sticking to the target set by former CEO Kasper Rorsted of generating €400 million in sales from World Cup-related products. The company said that sales are already higher than those at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The jerseys of the German national team were sold at a 50 percent discount in Adidas’ online store after the team’s elimination. Of the seven teams equipped by Adidas in Qatar, only Argentina, Spain and Japan are still in the round of 16.
