Giant is not the only Taiwanese bike company to be suffering from international competition. Merida's total sales outside Taiwan declined in volume by 26.9 percent to 1,601,623 units last year, according to Bike Europe, with a drop of 20.18 percent to 866,976 unit in the volume exported from Taiwan.
