Gina Tricot, a Swedish fashion retailer, is poised to enter the sports market with the launch of a new sportswear range. Sportfack, the magazine for the Swedish sporting goods sector, indicated that it would be launched at the beginning of 2012, and that it will include fashionable sports bras and tank tops, as well as leggings and shorts at low price points. The range is going to target fashion-conscious women who want not only functional clothing, but also fashionable training garments that will look good while they are working out. Gina Tricot should end the current year with a turnover of about 2.3 billion Swedish kronor (€254.5m-$337.9m). It has 170 stores in five Nordic countries and substantial online sales.
