Global sales of sports apparel were basically flat last year in terms of U.S. dollars at $75.6 billion, according to Sporting Goods Intelligence. They went up by 5 percent in the U.S., but the higher value of the dollar resulted in a 6 percent drop in the rest of the world. The details for 2014 and 2015, including the sales and the market shares of the 24 major athletic footwear brands, will be published in the next issue of SGI Europe.
