Less than one year after the acquisition of Go Sport by Hermione People & Brands for one symbolic Euro from Rallye, the company has opened its first new store in Paris. The new, 1,700-square-meter ‘La Salle de Sport’ (the gym) retail concept at Boulevard de la Madeleine in the heart of Paris combines a gym space, including a yoga studio, boxing gym, fitness training area and a cycling zone, and a retail store.
In the retail space, Go Sport is selling different leading brands in each segment, including Adidas, Nike, Puma, Le Coq Sportif, Under Armour, Hoka, Asics and Brooks for running as well as Scrappers for cycling.
La Salle de Sport has been an existing concept, created in 2017 by a former director at Adidas and Reebok France and getting into difficulties during the Covid-19-related lockdowns. According to the Fashion Network, Go Sport came to the company’s rescue during the summer and supported La Salle de Sport’s recovery plan in the Paris Commercial Court, although the value of the transaction was not announced by the group. Roughly 30 stores are currently operated by the French retailer in the greater Paris area.
