Golfsmith International has signed a deal that will allow Worldwide Golf Brands to help expand the MacGregor brand in Europe. Golfsmith is seeking partners worldwide to handle its proprietary brands such as MacGregor, and this latest deal comes a month after it struck and agreement for Australia and New Zealand. Under the five-year deal, Worldwide Golf Brands, based in Manchester, England, will use its established distribution and sales network in Europe to increase MacGregor's market share. Golfsmith published its results for the first quarter of 2011 a few days ago, showing its best performance in six years and indicating a possible return to profits. The company's net loss for the period dropped by 36 percent to $3.1 million as its revenues expanded by 21 percent to $81.5 million, with same-store sales rising by 13.4 percent.
