Cocona's new 37.5 trademark will first appear at retail in Europe next spring and autumn on products by Asics, Salomon, Bauer Hockey, Ride, Rip Curl and Tog24, says the American company. They will also be presented to the trade at the Ispo show in Munich in late January.
Numerous other brands will feature the 37.5 technology in Europe in their 2015 lines. Philip Haugaard, the former Swiss-based European licensee of Cocona, has changed his position following the reorganization of the company's structure. He is now in charge of sales in the region, notably looking for new clients.
As reported in the previous issue, Susanne Fischer has joined Cocona as European marketing manager. Formerly in charge of European marketing for Polartec, she also worked as brand marketing manager for Timberland in Central Europe and as head of marketing & communications for Messe München, organizer of the various Ispo trade shows.
She worked most recently in the fashion sector as head marketing manager at Hubert Burda Meia, publisher of magazines such as Elle, InStyle and Bunte. Fischer says she decided to go back into the sports sector after talking to Jeff Bowman, her former boss at Polartec, who came out of his planned retirement to act as the new chief executive of Cocona. They both sensed an interesting new opportunity, she says.
