Greenpeace has taken advantage of the excitement over the World Cup  to voice a claim that 33 products developed for the tournament by Adidas, Nike and Puma contain high levels of hazardous chemicals. The products criticized by the organization include Adidas' Brazuca ball, its Predator boot and Nike's Tiempo boot. Adidas reacted with a statement saying that none of the tested products would pose any health risks to consumers. Inviting Greenpeace to share details of its testing methodology to verify the results through independent laboratories, Adidas noted that they fully meet all legal requirements. Nike said that its tested products were within the limits set by government agencies and its own Restricted Substances List.
