Gymshark has announced it will open its previously announced flagship store on Regent Street in London on Oct. 1. This first-ever brick-and-mortar store for the British brand will span around 1,700 square meters and feature several other functions in addition to the sale of Gymshark products and apparel. For example, the store will include a “Sweat Room” where classes will be held on a rotating schedule. This room, which will host about 30 classes per week, will also be used as a stage for larger events. Classes will also include community service events offered by the charity partners and a weekly Sunday brunch with a professional guest. The flagship will also feature a bar called the ”The Pro Bench’” where customers can book complimentary appointments with “Gymshark Experts,” who will provide fitness advice, a center that can host podcasts, panel discussions, workshops and film screenings, and a Joe and The Juice.

“I keep having to pinch myself that we’re going to have a flagship store on one of the most prestigious streets in the world,” said Ben Francis, CEO of Gymshark. “And now, we have an opening date, it’s all getting very real.” Francis founded the Solihull-based brand in 2012. Today, it is valued at more than $1.3 billion, after having achieved outstanding sales and selling a 21 percent equity stake to General Atlantic in Sept. 2020. Group revenues for the – to date – DTC-only brand increased by 68 percent to £401.9 million (€455.8m) from £260.7 million in the 12 months ended July 31, 2021. Earlier this year, the company opened an office in Denver, with the U.S. as its primary target. Since 2021, there has also been speculation about a possible IPO of the company.
