Halfords is going to contribute to the Dallaglio Flintoff Cycle Slam 2012, a charity bicycle ride from Olympia, Greece, to Olympic Park in London. It will provide the Boardman Performance Series Road Pro Carbon bikes ridden by Lawrence Dallaglio and Andrew Flintoff, the two former England captains who are leading the 400 riders in the event. Halfords is also providing a team of mechanics along the route to provide technical support and any needed repairs or replacement parts. The ride starts on April 23 and covers 2,817 kilometers in five stages over 22 days. The goal is to raise £2,012,000 (€2.3m-$3.1m) for three groups: the Dallaglio Foundation, which supports Cancer Research UK; the AF Foundation, which raises money to build and improve children's rehabilitation and physiotherapy units in the U.K.; and Virgin Unite, working for young people, including helping them become more employable and entrepreneurial.
