USA Pickleball, the national governing body for the sport of pickleball in the US, has appointed Steve Wong as Vice President of Competition. In this role, Wong will lead USA Pickleball’s competition department, focusing on expanding and streamlining all sanctioned tournaments, including national championships, regional tournaments and general sanctioning.
In 2005, Wong was a founding board member and helped establish USA Pickleball. Along with Mark Friedenberg, who, like Wong, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, he was instrumental in establishing the structure of the association, serving as webmaster and later as vice president in the organization’s early years. His vision and leadership contributed to the immense growth and expansion of the sport. The Seattle native returned to USA Pickleball in 2012 to be co-director of the 2012 USA Pickleball National Championships.
