Hardy & Greys is dismissing about 27 employees, making up one-quarter of its personnel in the U.K., according to Angling International. The move was apparently prompted by a big drop in the U.K. fishing tackle market that is leading the company to reallocate resources to the German and U.S. markets. Richard Sanderson, who left Black & Decker eight years ago to act as managing director of the British specialist in fly fishing equipment and clothing, has left the company and has been replaced by a non-executive director, Richard Maudslay, on an interim basis. Sanderson has also resigned from the board of directors of EFTTA, the European fishing tackle association, where he handled finances.
