Head has named Karl Acham division manager for snowboard and protection, starting next Jan. 1, replacing Klaus Thurner, who has been placed in charge of the in-house sportswear department. Acham, 54, has been with Head since 2000. He has notably set up a snowboard business for the company in Japan. Reporting directly to Klaus Hotter, executive vice president of Head for winter sports, Acham will be aided by Peter Wirthenstätter for product development and by Bernd Pösl for marketing.
