“We unite in our differences. We unite in sport,” says Hummel, announcing that it has raised £12,472 (€14,960-$16,890) for the Everton football club in the U.K. through the sale of a limited edition of Everton rainbow warm-up shirts. The amount will go to the club’s Community Youth Engagement Program, specifically focusing on awareness for the LGBTI+ community. The Danish teamwear company produced the inclusive rainbow shirts to be worn in August by the players of the sponsored Everton and Southhampton teams during their pre-match warm-up opening games of the 2021/23 season, supporting the Copenhagen 2021 World Pride and EuroGames. They were also worn by the players of the Everton women’s team in a friendly pre-season match against Brighton. The men’s and women’s shirts were then auctioned out on the marchwornshirt.com website. The highest bids were made by customers in Brazil and the U.S.
