Icon Health & Fitness has filed a lawsuit in California against Octane Fitness of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and Nellie’s Exercise Equipment of Corona, California. The action alleges that the two companies are infringing on two patents belonging to Icon: one for an exercise machine control system released in April 1992 and one for an exercising device with elliptical movement, issued in February 2000. Icon is seeking monetary damages and asks that Octane and Nellie’s be forced to destroy their entire inventory of the products.
