Icon Health & Fitness is at the center of two lawsuits. Interactive Fitness Holdings of Sunnyvale, California, which bought the assets of Expresso Fitness out of foreclosure in November 2009, is seeking a declaratory judgment that it does not infringe on two patents issued to Icon, one involving adjusting exercise equipment and one involving remote interactive equipment. In a separate lawsuit, filed by Icon last week, defendant BH North America is accused of a infringing a treadmill patent belonging to Icon. BH, based in Foothill Ranch, California, sells treadmills and exercise equipment under the Bladez Fitness, BH Fitness and Ion Fitness brands.
