Implus has signed a 3-year sponsorship agreement for its Yaktrax and Highgear brands with Eric Larsen, the explorer who leads the Save the Poles project for the preservation of the Artic and Antarctic. As part of the agreement, Larsen will field-test Yaktrax and Highgear products during his future expeditions and make public appearances in behalf of the brands. Larsen was recently the first person to have reached the North Pole, the South Pole and the summit of Mount Everest in a single year. He plans to produce a documentary film, a book and an educational CD-ROM focusing on global warming, teamwork and the spirit of adventure.
