In a new restructuring move, Newell Brands is exploring strategic options for Rawlings, the American team sports brand inherited from Jarden Corp. in 2016, while merging the European operations of Coleman and Marmot Mountain. The latter move is adding fuel to a rumor that the two outdoor brands will somehow be merged at some point. As part of the consolidation in Europe, which will see Marmot Mountain Europe shut down its office in Schwaig, Germany, Andy Schimeck is leaving as its long-time general manager and is being replaced by Jan Schapmann, the current marketing and sales director. He will report to Martin Vergien, vice president and general manager of Newell Brands EMEA's Outdoor & Recreation Division, based in another German city, Hattersheim, which consists mainly of Coleman Europe.
