In its quest for breathable performance shoes that repel stains and water, Scott Sports is going to start using the ion-mask liquid repellent nanocoating technology of P2i on its training and trail-running shoes starting in August. A nanoscopic layer of protective polymer coats the entire shoe, so water beads up and rolls off. It will be used on the eRide Grip, T2 and IceRunner ranges. P2i is in demand lately, as Mizuno has also announced that it will use the ion-mask technology on its new golf shoe.
