International Federation of American Football receives full IOC recognition

The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) has been granted full recognition by the IOC at its 141st Session in Mumbai. The decision follows the proposal made by the IOC executive board in March. The IFAF is the international governing body for the sport of American football, including flag football, a variant of American Football, which is one of the five additional sports that have been approved for the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028, alongside cricket, baseball-softball, lacrosse and squash.
