Intersport Danmark has come to the rescue of a Danish sports retailer, Sports On Top, which recently declared bankruptcy. Intersport will take over eight Sport On Top retail locations, converting six into Intersport stores and two into Sport Direct stores. Sport Direct is a Danish B2B service for sales of team sports products to sports clubs that was taken over by Intersport Danmark in 2007. It has nothing to do with Sports Direct of the U.K. Sports on Top has been partly owned by a premier league football club, Aab. It has generated higher losses than expected, prompting the divestiture.
