Intersport France has reported a 10 percent increase in the revenues of its retail members for the first half of 2014, including a 5 percent increase on a same-store basis. The momentum is expected to continue throughout the calendar year, depending on the weather, leading to a total retail turnover of around €1.6 billion. The development of the group should accelerate in 2015 with 45 planned store openings or extensions, up from 30 in 2014. After spending €8 million on the expansion of its distribution center near Paris, the cooperative will invest €10 million in the next two years to set up an SAP-based supply chain management system, which should also allow Intersport France to launch a web-to-store program.
