Intersport France reached sales of €1,298 million at retail prices in 2011, 5.4 percent more than in the previous year. Because of the lack of snow, the 187 stores located in the ski resorts suffered a decline of a little less than 2 percent. The other 366 doors, 15 of which are in Belgium, saw their sales increase overall by 7.1 percent, with growth of 1.7 percent on a comparable store basis. The total selling surface of the network increased by 33,000 square meters to about 500,000 square meters by the end of 2011. According to the group, the first quarter of 2012 was successful, with double-digit growth in retail sales on a comparable basis. This may help fulfill Intersport's five-year plan to reach sales of €1.9 billion in France by 2015.
