Intersport International Corporation (IIC) has reported on the creation of a new position of global category director for lifestyle products. It will be filled by Marcus Albrecht, who comes from Zalando. He worked there for the past two years as head of sports, starting in sales and subsequently handling product management, merchandising and sourcing. Prior to that, he worked as an account manager for VF Corp. from 1993, followed by stations at various companies including Levi Strauss, Puma, Nike, Adidas and Bench. In a break with the past, IIC appointed other category managers up until six months ago under the management of its former chief executive, Victor Duran. The new category is a response to the growing demand for lifestyle products in the market. Albrecht was recruited through Esperanza Search.
