The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced a new four-sport Olympic qualifier series for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The new qualifier series will include four sports – BMX freestyle, breaking, skateboarding, and sport climbing. Three festival-style events will gather the best athletes from each of the four sports. These events, which are part of each sport’s respective Paris 2024 qualification systems, will be held in compact city center venues over four days between March and June 2024. By combining sport with culture and music in a festive atmosphere, the new event series is also expected to boost the visibility of the four sports. The new series builds on the success of urban sports at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, said the IOC.
