Ispo Shanghai will take place this summer in the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) for the second time, on July 6-8, and the figures should exceed those of the first edition of this new summer trade show. The organizers expect nearly 400 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, which would equate to an 11 percent increase on last year. Exhibitors will represent around 470 brands across the trade show's areas of Action Sports, Sportstyle, Fitness, Running, Functional Textiles, Outdoor, Paddling and Watersports, and - new this year - Adventure Travel.

Among the registered exhibitors are some new entries including Gola, Gronell, LifeStraw, Millet, Prosperous, Rehband, Swarovski, Tecnica, Yuneec, and Zeiss, among others. Alongside these first-time exhibitors, the global interest in Ispo Shanghai is highlighted by the return of international brands such as 2XU, Camelbak, Fjällräven, LP Support, Point 65, Sea to Summit, Skins, and Ulvang. There will also be a new pavilion for exhibitors from the Czech Republic and a higher number of participants from Taiwan and Korea.

Adventure travel and running will be the focal points of this edition of the trade show, placing it in direct competition with the more established Asia Outdoor show in Nanjing one month later. Ispo Shanghai says it will respond to the growing adventure travel segment by providing trade visitors with extensive information on sport tourism, with representatives from travel agencies, event companies, vacation areas and sports clubs.

In addition to reaching their customers through their products, sports business professionals increasingly appeal to the customer's emotions, and use outdoor activities and sporting events to connect with them. The trade show will feature a separate “Running Village,” complete with conferences and training sessions. Running is one of the fastest growing sport segments in China. Exhibitors at the Running Village will include makers of running clothes, shoes, fitness equipment and wearable devices.

For the first time, Ispo Shanghai 2016 will showcase the upcoming spring and summer trends as a compliment to the autumn/winter trends presented at Ispo Munich. The trade show will also offer a comprehensive program of events. At the “Ispo Open Demo Day,” on July 5, participants will have a chance to take a look at and test the latest sports products.

At the “Ispo Sports Industry Innovation Summit,” on July 6, visitors will get plenty of information about the current trends and investment opportunities in the global sports business. At the Night Run, some 500 participants will be running together along a seven-kilometer route through the Shanghai Century Park, on the evening of July 7 - a more relaxed opportunity for meeting and networking.

The two-day “Market Introduction Program,” on July 4-6, will explain how companies can successfully break into the Chinese market through a series of seminars on market analysis and strategies, complemented by guided visits to local retailers.
