Italy's Bressan group, which specializes in the design and development of rather technical outdoor and ski apparel through a company called Prisma 2, has taken over all the assets of Garmont and its personnel, but not its liabilities, through a new company called Garmont International. The company's former owner and chief executive, Achille Morlin, will continue to be involved as a consultant, focusing on product development. He had already sold Garmont's winter business to Scott Sports Group in 2012. Headed up by Pierangelo Bressan, the new company plans to continue to focus on the outdoor sector, with a possible diversification of the product line in 2016 (more in The Outdoor Industry Compass).
